David graduated from the University of Victoria with a BSc in Geoscience, before working in mining exploration, aerial survey, IT, and satellite imagery. He went on to complete my MA in Counselling Psychology here at UBC, where his research focus was in employment transitions and the changing context of work. He currently serves as a BCOM Career Manager at the UBC Sauder School of Business.
The Honourable Yonah Martin is a Canadian politician (since 2009), and is the first Korean-Canadian parliamentarian in Canadian history. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Yonah Martin immigrated to Canada in 1972, and has resided in Metro-Vancouver ever since. After graduating from UBC in 1987, she enjoyed a 21-year teaching career until her entry into politics. She earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 1996. Yonah Martin later co-founded C3 Korean Canadian Society (in 2003) and currently serves as Honorary Patron of C3. She has served on the EMP Advisory Board since 2009.
With over 20 years of project management experience in real estate development, Rebecca is a highly experienced with municipalities, consultants, and community consultation.
As one of the student organizers who first started EMP over 20 years ago, Rebecca has seen many of the challenges and triumphs for mentorship at Sauder. The passion of individuals, wanting to give back to students to broaden their experience, to step out of textbooks and into the real world, and to gain access to different perspectives and share real life experience, is important to the diversity of community at UBC and beyond - which resonates greatly with Rebecca.
Vaclav helps companies strategize, innovate and grow.
His specialty is aligning strategy and technology to enable the overall vision for startups and fast growing organizations. He also brings a team of technology experts to implement leading-edge projects. Vaclav Joined EMP to help young people with succeeding, which he also believes is the best investment in the future.
Richard is a senior real estate development leader with a passion for housing and urban life. He has a successful track record of building and managing teams that deliver outstanding, brand-defining developments, achieving and surpassing project objectives while contributing positively to their neighbourhoods. He has been involved with EMP as a mentor and a board member since its inception as he feels it is important to share the knowledge he's gained in his career with younger generations of aspiring business leaders.”
